Job summary

Tech24 in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced HVACR Technician to ensure performance and compliance of commercial refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining HVACR equipment with a focus on safety and energy efficiency.

You will read wiring diagrams, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Qualifications

• 3+ years commercial refrigeration service experience preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine service.
• Install and replace refrigeration components and equipment as required.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Test refrigeration systems, identify issues, and complete repairs.
• Maintain service records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and EPA regulations.
• Communicate findings with customers and provide recommendations.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Participate in after-hours/on-call rotation as needed.

Job Description

The HVACR Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining HVACR equipment to meet client specifications and regulatory standards. The technician will work closely with customers and team members to provide timely solutions that enhance indoor air quality and system reliability. A strong focus on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting is essential to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Ultimately, the HVACR Technician contributes to creating comfortable and safe environments while supporting energy-efficient practices

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables, and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine service.
• Install and replace refrigeration components and equipment as required.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Test refrigeration systems, identify issues, and complete necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding service findings and recommendations.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
• Participate in after-hours or on-call service rotation as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial refrigeration service experience preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $30- $45 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as mechanical aptitude, prior technical experience, certifications, and overall qualifications. As an apprentice-level position, compensation reflects a training-focused role with significant opportunity for wage growth as skills and certifications are earned.
