Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is hiring a full-time HVAC Service Technician I - VRV in Tampa, FL. You will service a range of commercial equipment, from VRV systems to rooftops, chillers, and boilers, with comprehensive training and career growth.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, safety compliance, and customer education while ensuring reliable operation and timely service. Onsite work in Tampa with opportunities for skill development and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree or technical HVAC certificate preferred.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (training provided during onboarding).
• Current first aid / CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform Start Up and Commissioning: verify functionality of new VRV systems and educate customers.
• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, replacing filters, belts, and lubrication.
• Assist in repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring for fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHUs, rooftops, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Assist with warranty service by inspecting and testing systems.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other articles timely.
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training through regional trainers and Daikin Learning; maintain certifications.
