Job summary

JLL in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and optimize heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems across client sites. You will handle chillers, AHUs, boilers, pumps, and related equipment.

You must hold EPA 608, fall protection, and other certifications, work Mon-Fri with on-call rotation, and travel to sites as needed. Strong safety, troubleshooting and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • EPA Section 608 Certification required for handling refrigerants.
  • Fall Protection Certification and Lifting Equipment Certification if operating powered trucks.
  • Confined Space Certification if applicable.
  • State or local HVAC licensing as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and associated equipment, including chillers, air handling units, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers, and hot water pumps.
  • Execute equipment maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain system performance.
  • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation / Control Systems to ensure efficient operations.
  • Comply with safety policies for storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean, safe workplace.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work by outside contractors.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure excellent maintenance execution.
  • Requires travel to assigned sites/locations, including overnight travel as needed.

Job description

Summary: The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, repair, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with applicable standards. This role requires technical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems and associated equipment, including chillers, air handling units, condensers, exhaust fans, boilers, and hot water pumps.
  • Execute equipment maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels.
  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Building Automation / Control Systems to ensure effective / efficient operations within the HVAC systems that this role will support.
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure excellent execution of maintenance work.
  • Requires travel to assigned sites/locations, including overnight travel as needed based on business demand.

  • Physical Demands:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work may require travel to various sites and rooftop locations Must be able to work in team environment with strong interpersonal skills
  • Work Environment:Work hours: Monday - Friday (may vary based on site requirements). Participation also required in an On-Call rotation program for the region.
