City of Boca Raton is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems across a municipal facility network. You will handle sheet metal work, ducting, and controls, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a two-year HVAC/vocational program or apprenticeship with multiple years of experience, and universal EPA certification.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school degree or GED.
  • Two year technical/vocational A/C and Refrigeration program with four years of experience, or
  • Florida journeyman certificate, or
  • Four year apprenticeship with two years’ experience in A/C and Refrigeration.
  • Universal EPA Certification in Transition and Recovery of Refrigerants is required.
  • Ability to work a variable five day schedule within a seven day week.
  • Licenses: CA/R A class A/B/C contractor license or CM/R mechanical contractor license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, troubleshosuts, and repairs HVAC/Refrigeration systems and related equipment.
  • Constructs and installs duct work.
  • Works with frequency drives and building automation systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and unexpected repairs.
  • Provides 24-hour on-call support as needed.
  • Maintains records and processes work orders.
  • Orders parts, supplies and equipment and provides estimates.
