Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is hiring HVAC Technicians for its Dover, New Jersey plant. The roles are on-site, with 2nd and 3rd shift schedules and training on 1st shift Monday–Friday.

Anticipated pay range is $28.00–$33.00 per hour, with a shift premium for off-shift work. You’ll join a leading producer of aero engine components with comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of HVAC experience, and a refrigeration

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years HVAC technician experience preferred.
  • Refrigeration license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Repair electrical components and refrigerant systems in HVAC equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and measurement instruments.
  • Diagnose machinery malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Assist TPM initiatives and train others as needed.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for 2HVAC Techniciansto join ourHowmet Casting plant located in Dover, New Jersey.

The work hours for these positions will be on 2nd and 3rd shift.

Training will occur on 1st shift M-F

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift

POSITION OVERVIEW

The HVAC Technician will perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs in the areas of HVAC systems in the plant.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance as well as emergency breakdown repairs in order to ensure that HVAC systems continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Perform electrical and refrigerant repairs to HVAC systems.
  • Be able to work with and diagnose problems with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems on HVAC machinery.
  • Align and balance equipment after installation, repair or service.
  • Assemble, install and /or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other parts of machinery
  • Dismantle devices to gain success to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools and replacing defective parts with new parts or repairs parts.
  • Inspect Operator and test Machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions
  • Support all TPM efforts
  • Train other maintenance personnel on equipment in area.
Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years’ experience as an HVAC technician or related experience
  • Holds a refrigeration Liscense
  • Self Starter and able to manage time and multiple projects
  • Must be able to read blue prints and measurement instruments.
  • Working knowledge of boilersystem

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED

  • The HVAC Technician is required to do frequent standing and lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds.
  • This job also requires the use of hand and power tools as well as measurement equipment and computers.
  • The working conditions of this job vary but include exposure to mechanical moving equipment, precarious places, confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration.
