Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an HVAC Technician 1 who delivers portable HVAC equipment to customers and provides basic operation, use and safety training. The role mainly works in the shop to keep gear organized, cleaned, and ready for rental, with on-call duties for after-hours and weekend emergencies.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a service role, basic math and mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of customer-facing service experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Able to work some after-hours and weekends.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Delivers and installs rented HVAC equipment and trains the authorized operator on safe use.
• Directs customers to sign appropriate paperwork and keeps track of serial numbers.
• Troubleshoots operation, function, specifications and controls of rental equipment.
• Operates company vehicle safely and follows safety policies.
• Cleans and tests returned equipment for proper operation and appearance.
• Completes paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Installs flexible gas hose on propane and natural gas applications.
• Checks gas connections safely and properly.
• Maintains records of in-stock and rented equipment with managers and sales engineers.
• On-call for emergency service on weekends and evenings.
