Tufts Medicine’s Melrose/Wakefield Hospital is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair central heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems. The role emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and rapid problem-solving to ensure continuous operation.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, an HVAC/Refrigeration license, and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current HVAC/Refrigeration License.
• Three (3) years of experience as an HVAC Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Respond to issues with HVAC equipment and controls, pneumatic and digital controls, refrigerators, freezers and ice machines.
• Follow work orders, drawings, diagrams, specifications and verbal instructions.
• Plan, install, inspect, test, and maintain/repair systems and/or equipment.
• Check completed work to ensure proper functioning of systems/equipment.
• Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
• Respond to repair calls, analyze problems and recommend repairs.
• Maintain records and requisition equipment and supplies.
• Move materials as necessary and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety rules.
