Position

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician will repair, service, and maintain HVAC equipment, systems, and related components for buildings and process applications at the Cooper River site. The role is part of a registered apprenticeship program with the Department of Labor and is eligible for GI Bill Benefits. The Technician is expected to work on‐call, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems and related equipment, including electrical components, controls, piping, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment malfunctions and support operations and engineering with equipment issues.
• Track refrigerant usage and maintain accurate equipment and maintenance history records.
• Assist with minor construction, remodeling, installation, and repair planning/scheduling activities for HVAC systems.
• Prepare permits and task risk assessments, ensuring all work complies with company procedures, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, reduce costs, and optimize preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping of shops, tools, trucks, and job sites, and participate in after‑hours, weekend, holiday, and on‑call support as required.

What you will bring

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of HVAC experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and safeguards for maintenance and construction.
• A passing score on pre‑employment tests, including mechanical aptitude, reading, and mathematics.
• Additional HVAC related certifications preferred.
• The ability to read and follow detailed operating, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• The willingness and ability to be on call, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The willingness and ability to relocate to or commute daily to the INEOS Cooper River Plant without company assistance.
• Work with diverse groups to achieve results and maintain a positive working relationship with co‑workers.
• Understands and adheres to SHE processes and regulations.
• The ability to routinely work in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
• The ability to routinely climb stairs and ladders that may exceed 200 ft in total span with break decks.
• The ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lb.
• The ability to put on respirators and other critical safety equipment.
• Continuous exertion of over 50 lb of force (lifting, pulling, pushing, torqueing) while standing, walking, climbing, and performing repetitive motions for 67–100% of the time.
• Working outside 67–100% of the time in temperature extremes and noisy environments.
• The willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions.
