Job description

Job Overview

As an HVAC Technician at Curaleaf, you will install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems critical to our cannabis cultivation, processing, and storage facilities. You will work closely with cultivation and operations teams to ensure precise temperature, humidity, and airflow control, maintaining compliance with industry regulations and supporting efficient plant growth.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems to keep air handlers, dehumidifiers, ventilation units, and CO₂ enrichment systems running smoothly for optimal plant growth.
  • Monitor and adjust climate controls to ensure ideal temperature, humidity, and air circulation levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC-related problems quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacement, and component inspection.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations for climate control, air filtration, odor mitigation, and EPA refrigerant handling guidelines.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing energy‑efficiency solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance schedules, and compliance reports.
  • Collaborate with cultivation, processing, and retail teams to meet facility climate requirements.
  • Follow OSHA standards, company SOPs, and coordinate with contractors for major repairs and inspections.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Technical school certification or 1–2 years of experience in commercial or residential HVAC (required).
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance experience.
  • EPA 608 Universal certification (required).
  • Strong knowledge of heating, cooling, dehumidification, and ventilation systems.
  • Understanding of climate control for indoor cultivation, including temperature and humidity management.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components of HVAC systems.
  • Attention to detail, efficiency, and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Additional Experience
  • Additional HVAC certification.
  • Experience in controlled environment agriculture, food processing, or the cannabis industry.
  • Basic understanding of cannabis industry regulations related to air quality and climate control.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and their integration with HVAC operations.
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
Physical Requirements

Regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are required. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. The role involves exposure to dust, pollen, plant pathogens, confined spaces, high‑stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility in a changing environment.
