Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for an immediate field-service opening in Tampa, FL. This hands-on role diagnoses, repairs, maintains, and installs HVAC systems at residential and light commercial locations.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of HVAC experience, completion of an HVAC program or apprenticeship, and the required EPA and NATE certifications, along with a valid driver's license and own tools.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an HVAC program, vocational program, or apprenticeship.
  • Current state-required HVAC technician license.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
  • NATE Certification.
  • 2+ years of residential and light commercial HVAC experience.
  • Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Own HVAC tools required for field service work.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to residential and commercial customer locations for scheduled service calls.
  • Diagnose HVAC system issues and perform repairs.
  • Inspect heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment as needed.
  • Service, install, and repair indoor and outdoor units, air ducts, drain pans, drain lines, and related components.
  • Braze and solder piping connections.
  • Install and calibrate thermostats, humidistats, solenoids, timers, and controls.
  • Diagnose inoperative indoor and outdoor units and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical and mechanical components.
  • Perform drain cleaning, coil sanitizing, motor lubrication, and other routine maintenance.
  • Test completed repairs using gauges, voltmeters, leak detectors, airflow instruments, and other HVAC diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and HVAC resources.
  • Clearly communicate system issues, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for an immediate opening. This is a hands‑on field service role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC systems at residential and light commercial customer locations.

What You'll Do
