Job summary

Nivagen Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to operate and maintain HVAC systems, BMS and EMS within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment in Sacramento, CA.

This role focuses on minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, compliant operations across utilities and clean room areas. The candidate should have hands-on experience with AHU systems, filters, and regulatory requirements, and be able to perform preventative maintenance while documenting activities in our

Qualifications

  • HVAC knowledge including components and systems.
  • Experience with AHU’s and outdoor units in pharma or related fields.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA/EPA) and good documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain HVAC system, BMS, EMS and supporting areas observing safety procedures.
  • Monitor HVAC systems to detect malfunctions and perform maintenance.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Record and maintain daily logs on HVAC operations, maintenance, and safety activities.
  • Capable of performing repairs and improvements.
  • Adhere to environmental policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Replace/clean filters including HEPA and pre-filters in clean room areas.
  • Understand clean room classification, AHU zoning, pressure balancing, and related operations.
  • Preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Prepare SOP/EOP for the system.
  • Ability to learn other systems and operate them.
  • Follow Good documentation practices.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

About the Job:

Title of the Position: HVAC Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HVAC Operator to join our team at Nivagen. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining our HVAC system, BMS and EMS system ensuring they function safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is pivotal in minimizing downtime and supporting our manufacturing operations’ overall productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain HVAC system , BMS, EMS and supporting areas observing all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Monitor HVAC systems to detect malfunctions and necessary maintenance.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Record and maintain daily logs on HVAC operations, maintenance, and safety activities.
  • Capable to perform repairs and improvements.
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Ability to replace / clean the different filter at HVAC side and also Clean room side like HEPA filter, pre filters etc
  • Should have knowledge on the clean room classification , AHU zoning , pressure balancing and other operation related to AHU and its area of supply.
  • Preventative maintenance of HVAC systems
  • Prepare the SOP / EOP for the system.
  • Ability to lean other system and operate them.
  • Follow Good documentation practices
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications :
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in handling HVAC systems, AHU’s , outdoor units and supporting utilities in a pharmaceutical industry or related areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • HVAC Systems & Components: Knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and related components (furnaces, heat pumps, etc.).
  • Electrical & Mechanical Expertise: Proficiency in wiring, circuit boards, motors, and other mechanical systems used in HVAC.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Installation, Repair, & Maintenance: Skilled in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC components and systems.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Strong skills in explaining issues and maintaining professional client relationships.
  • Energy Efficiency & Sustainability: Awareness of energy-efficient HVAC systems and eco-friendly practices.
  • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and adherence to industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Ability to work in varied conditions, learn new technologies, and stay updated with industry advancements.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Legally authorized to be employed in the United States (U.S. citizens or national, permanent residents)
  • Must live or willing to move to Sacramento Metropolitan Region (Approx. 40 miles’ radius)
  • Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
  • Able and willing to walk, stoop, stand, bend, and lift throughout each shift, with or without accommodation
