DT Professional Services in Port Hueneme, CA is seeking an HVAC Technician to support operation, maintenance, and optimization of commercial systems across our facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely.

The role requires hands-on experience with RTUs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs, and BAS controls, plus the ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
• Strong working knowledge of RTUs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, and BAS controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues independently.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with BAS and control calibration.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, multimeters, and testing equipment.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems (low and high voltage).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards including LOTO.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems and components (RTUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, VAV boxes).
• Test and calibrate system controls, thermostats, and BAS to ensure proper operation.
• Record operating parameters to monitor performance and detect potential failures.
• Maintain logs of maintenance activities, parts used, and system conditions.
• Identify issues and report upgrades to facility management before failures occur.
• Troubleshoot root causes of mechanical, electrical, and control failures across HVAC equipment.
• Follow safety protocols including LOTO and PPE usage.
• Handle refrigerants per EPA regulations, including leak detection and charging.
• Read blueprints and manuals to guide maintenance and repairs.
• Communicate status and impact of repairs to managers and occupants.

Job Summary:

DT Pro is seeking a HVAC Technician to join our team in Port Hueneme, CA. This role supports the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our facilities. The technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to maintaining system performance and occupant comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine, scheduled inspections of all HVAC systems and components, including rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and variable air volume (VAV) boxes.
• Test and calibrate system controls, thermostats, and building automation systems (BAS) to ensure they are functioning according to specifications and maintaining occupant comfort.
• Check and record system operating parameters (e.g., refrigerant pressures, voltage, amperage, and air temperatures) to ensure optimal performance and identify signs of potential failure.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all preventative maintenance activities, parts used, and system conditions.
• Use this data to track equipment health and forecast future needs. Identify and report any potential issues, deficiencies, or recommended upgrades to facility management before they evolve into major failures.
• Systematically troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of mechanical, electrical, and control system failures on a wide variety of HVAC equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe handling of tools and materials.
• Safely handle and manage refrigerants, including leak detection, recovery, recycling, and charging, in strict compliance with EPA regulations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schematics, and manufacturer technical manuals to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Clearly communicate with facility managers, building occupants, and team members regarding system status, repair timelines, and potential impacts on building operations.

Minimum Requirements:

The compensation range for this position: $29.00 - $30.00
