Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC maintenance or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving history.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains diverse heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Performs general and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Ensures installations conform to set standards.
  • Calibrates thermostats and other controls.
  • Checks motors and belts; handles lubrication duties.
  • Changes filters and replaces worn parts.
  • Repairs motors and services hot water boilers.
  • Maintains chemical compositions in equipment.
  • Assists in ordering supplies or equipment for HVAC maintenance or installation.
  • Ensures availability of items needed for HVAC projects.
  • Responds to emergency situations to resolve issues promptly.
  • Assists with inventory and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Replaces faulty or expired parts in an HVAC system.
  • Assists in determining the need for upgrading HVAC systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED), and four (4) years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses or Certifications

Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.

CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Special Requirements

Must be able to work flexible hours and weekend rotations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the ability to maintain body equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching and/or stretching arms, legs or other parts of body to grasp, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical requirements are for Heavy Work.

Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires the need to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
