Job Description: The HVAC technician is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires significant experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, or installation. The HVAC Technician II will preferably be actively pursuing a formal licensure or working in a formal apprenticeship. Regardless of specialty, an HVAC Technician II may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects. Schedule: Monday-Friday 700am-330pm with on call rotation/occasional weekend or after hours may be required. Full-time/Benefits Eligible

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and inspections, diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
• Work with a variety of systems and equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and control systems.
• Works with little supervision or with minimal support from outside contractors.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as an HVAC technician.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
• Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
• Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.
