Job summary

Lee’s Summit Heating and Cooling is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join a growing team in Lee’s Summit, MO. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain residential HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, and explain options and costs to customers.

The role emphasizes professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work with a family-friendly schedule. A valid driver’s license is required and EPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent failures.
• Locate and diagnose problems and explain options and costs to customers.
• Assist with repairs of complete systems including controls and wiring.
• Install, repair or replace refrigerant lines and related components.
• Ensure repairs and installations meet safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in residential HVAC services.


• A high school diploma or GED.


• EPA Certificate (Preferred)


• Must be able to lift or carry heavy objects of up to 50 pounds to include ductwork, furnaces or materials.


• Excellent communicator with internal and external customers

• Must be coachable and willing to learn new things


• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record


• Must pass background and drug screen

Essential Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment


• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent equipment failure by cleaning air handling systems and reheat coils, monitoring and calibrating air handling systems and replacing filters, motors, fans, belts, etc. on systems.


• Locate and diagnose problems, assess extent of repairs and describe options and associated costs to the customer. Provides a description of diagnosed problems to customer in terms that can be understood with options, as possible.


• Assists with repairs of complete systems to include repairing, calibrating or replacing controls, switches, thermostats, transformers, gauges, wiring fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, piping and other functional components of the system.


• Completes all required documentation on services, explains guarantees/warranties and records
  Install, repair, replace, or clean refrigerant lines, fans, appliance vents, smoke detectors, humidifiers, and grills, as appropriate.


• Ensures that all HVAC repairs and installations are accurate, serviceable and that materials used meets the requirements and safety standards/regulatory codes.
