Job summary

JLL is seeking an HVAC/R Technician in Hopkinton, MA, to perform inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment and systems across a client facility. The role reports to the Chief Engineer and involves hands-on work with mechanical and refrigeration systems on a Monday–Friday schedule, with potential for leadership on related tasks.

The position requires 3+ years of HVAC/R experience, EPA certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years HVAC/R maintenance experience in commercial/industrial buildings.
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification and EPA HVAC/R credentials.
• Valid state driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and equipment manuals.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment including large HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, testing HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and repair air-cooled and water-cooled condensers, replace motors and fix coil leaks.
• Service commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in freezers and ice machines.
• Evacuate systems, pull vacuums, detect micro-leaks, and recharge refrigerants to spec.
• Inspect systems for hazards and maintain records using CMMS/BMS; order supplies as needed.

HVAC Technician- JLL

What this job involves:

As an HVAC/R Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in maintaining optimal building environments while working alongside a team that's collectively shaping a brighter way forward. Based in Hopkinton, MA, you'll perform a wide variety of moderately complex technical tasks related to the inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment, utility systems, and complex machinery across our client's facility. This hands-on position requires technical expertise in mechanical and refrigeration systems, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a rotating on-call schedule, you'll report directly to the Chief Engineer and have opportunities to lead others in related work or serve as a back-up to other Technicians on complex assignments. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Investigate and troubleshoot problems on mechanical equipment including large complex air movement and HVAC systems, performing repairs to restore functionality
• Perform preventive maintenance on various mechanical and electrical equipment, including regularly scheduled testing of HVAC and instrumentation systems
• Diagnose and repair air-cooled and water-cooled condensers, replacing faulty fan motors, repairing coil leaks, and clearing blocked fins to restore optimal heat transfer
• Troubleshoot and service commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigerators, and ice machines, replacing compressors, evaporators, expansion valves, and defrost control timers as needed
• Execute system evacuations, pull deep vacuums, identify micro-leaks using electronic detectors, and recharge refrigeration systems to precise factory specifications
• Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes and standards
• Maintain accurate documentation including records, files, and reports, and order supplies and equipment as needed using CMMS and BMS platforms

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant HVAC/R work experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial and/or industrial buildings and equipment
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification and EPA-certified HVAC/R Technician credentials
• Valid state driver's license with reliable transportation
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and equipment manuals
• Physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights from ladders and lifts, and perform tasks in confined spaces, roofs, and all weather conditions

Preferred qualifications:

• Journeyman Refrigeration Technician's License or Massachusetts Refrigeration Technicians License
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and strong customer service skills
• Exposure to Johnson Controls/JCI, Siemens, and Corrigo CMMS/BMS/BAS platforms

Schedule: M-F 7:00AM-3:30PM

Location: Hopkinton MA

Expected compensation for this position:

85,000.00 - 93,000.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
