Job summary

JLL is hiring an HVAC Technician for an on-site role in El Paso, TX. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and hands-on work on HVAC systems within a campus-based complex of multiple buildings, following JLL standards and safety guidelines.

The role requires troubleshooting, operation of building automation and control systems, and coordination with teams to keep facilities safe and reliable. On-site work with potential overtime on weekends or on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• 5 Years Commercial HVAC experience.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• NFPA 70E familiarity.
• EPA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems to keep properties in peak condition.
• Identify and implement OM&R strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient systems across campus-based facilities.
• Conduct quality control audits and assist in deficiency reporting to supervisors.
• Provide technical assistance and hands-on repair guidance to operations teams across a multi-building campus.

Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Summary

• The HVAC Technician will perform and/or direct various preventive maintenance and repairs within local campus. This will include hands-on work to complete the necessary work within Jones Lang LaSalle standards and guidelines.
• Will perform and assist in identification and implementation of OM&R Strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient Buildings, Building Systems, and equipment within a campus-based complex with multiple buildings in close proximity.
• Execute JLL Quality control audits and inspections conducted throughout the territory and deficiency reports provided to supervisors.
• Provide technical assistance, training, and support in advanced building operations, troubleshooting, and hands-on repair guidance in support of teams within a territory
• Perform other work to include hands-on repair & maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, card access systems, door & gates systems, building envelope systems, grounds and parking lots, interior finish systems, lighting systems, and various other R&M tasks associated with operation of a commercial property.

• Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, client, and customers.
• Ability to schedule and prioritize work for themselves and others to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
• Ability to engage others to gain cooperation and teamwork.
• Conduct performance counseling and performance management of direct reports

Safety

• Comprehensive knowledge of Safe Work practices especially regarding energized work, working at heights and confined spaces.
• Ability to recognize, assess and mitigate or eliminate risk.
• Ability to understand and use proper PPE for associated tasks

Operations, Maintenance and Repair - OM&R

• Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial Building and Building Systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Vertical Transportation, Life Safety, Roofs, Structure, Parking lots and roads) using industry standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair service work on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and various other building systems to maintain the properties in peak operational condition.

Customer Service

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Diploma or GED
• Comparable work experience
• Vocation degree program, apprenticeship.
• Higher Education (i.e. College or University)
• 5 Years Commercial HVAC experience
• Applicable codes, laws, and regulations
• NFPA 70E
• OSHA 10
• EPA Certification

Other abilities

• Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite)
• Skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications.
• Ability to work with CMMS, ABS, and BMS programs
• Ability to use handheld electronic devices (PDA, Blackberry, cell phone, etc.)
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

• Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to create, modify and edit processes, procedures, and reports.

Physical work requirements and work conditions

• Work can be Campus based with extensive walking between buildings
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, cold, heights about six feet, daylight and nighttime hours as required.
