Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an HVAC Systems Engineer focusing on Ductless and VRF for residential split systems. You will validate products to meet market requirements and provide technical support to quality, manufacturing and supply chain teams.

The role leads NPI activities, develops specifications, and collaborates with design, testing and product management to ensure robust engineering and successful field deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Industrial Engineering.
• 4+ years of product engineering experience for NPIs in a manufacturing industry.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering product introduction activities for Ductless and VRF, including cost estimates and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, suppliers, and customers.
• Collaborate with internal functions to support program metrics and goals.
• Translate design/engineering requirements into product line components and subsystems.
• Work with lab technicians on performance, reliability and agency testing.
• Support field issue verification with Product Management, Service, Manufacturing and Quality.

About This Role

The HVAC Systems Engineer will be focused on Ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) for residential split system products. You will be responsible to validate products to meet intended market requirements and provide technical support and guidance to other business functions to support quality, manufacturing, and supply chain objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering product introduction activities for the Ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance and service requirements.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with diverse audiences including but not limited to; cross functional team members, senior leaders, global suppliers, and external customers including service managers and technicians.
• Collaborate with internal functions to support key metrics for a program and ensure all goals are achieved.
• Partner with design team members to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems and products.
• Collaborate with lab technicians to complete performance testing, reliability testing and agency testing requirements.
• Work with Product Management, Service, Manufacturing, Quality and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Industrial Engineering.
• 4+ years with product engineering experience for NPI’s in a manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently under minimum direction and without day-to-day supervision to prioritize work to meet customer needs.
• Experience working in a team environment within (Design Services, Test Labs and Model Shop) and outside of functional support groups (Product Quality, Supplier Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing).
• Understanding of Industry-wide accepted system engineering tools.
• Knowledge of and experience using design for six sigma principles.
• Strong skills with Microsoft; Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to model/design and qualify (i.e. performance and reliability) HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Ability to understand product/component function, reliability and quality requirements.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
