Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to be based in our Atlanta, GA office. The Mechanical Engineer III will develop HVAC system designs for government and commercial buildings and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include coordinating with other disciplines, reviewing shop drawings and RFIs, attending project meetings, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring work meets budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in mechanical design of HVAC systems for buildings, or demonstrated equivalency.
• US Citizenship required due to government/contract work.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience.
• Experience in building HVAC load calculations and energy modeling.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems design for government and commercial buildings.
• Coordinate HVAC systems with other disciplines.
• Review and approve shop drawings, respond to RFIs and other construction admin tasks.
• Attend project meetings, internal and client meetings.
• Assist with mentoring of junior staff.
• Perform site/field visits to ascertain existing conditions.
