Job summary

Service Experts is seeking a capable supervisor for Journeyman plumbers in Goshen, KY. You will support, train, and guide teams handling installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems while ensuring safety and high-quality workmanship.

You must have strong leadership, training ability, and a solid plumbing background with EPA/safety certifications, plus a valid driver's license and flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years in plumbing.
  • Strong leadership and trainer abilities.
  • Ability to train others in technical skills and customer service.
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by local regulations.
  • EPA and safety certifications required.
  • Knowledge of national, state and local plumbing codes.
  • Reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting plumbing systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Flexibility to work hours and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman plumbers with major or difficult assignments.
  • Perform quality-control reviews of completed work.
  • Train Journeyman plumbers on skills and safety practices.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of company tools and vehicles.
  • Represent the company professionally and ethically.
  • Stock and replenish vehicle inventories as needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks and material requisitions.
  • Provide leadership to field staff on customer focus and safety.
  • Assist the GM with duties as needed.
  • Perform on-site service, maintenance, or installation when required.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance.

Job description

Welcome! Supervises and provides technical and sales support for Journeyman plumbers who install, maintain, service, or clean plumbing fixtures, systems, or equipment. Assists plumbers with unusual or difficult assignments, trains and coaches Journeyman plumbers, ensures that safety rules and practices are followed, and conducts quality-control checks on completed work. As needed due to staffing and customer needs, performs service, maintenance, and installation work. Work is performed under the direction of the General Manager, Master Plumber, or Plumbing Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists Journeyman plumbers with major, unusual or difficult assignments and/or problems.
  • Conducts quality-control review of assessments of completed work performed to ensure work is performed in accordance with company practices and processes, expected workmanship, and efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Trains Journeyman plumbers on skills, company processes and procedures, as well as safety practices in preparation for them in becoming Master Plumbers.
  • Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being used, maintained and properly accounted for.
  • Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activities.
  • Ensures that the company vehicles are properly stocked, that defective warranty parts are returned to the branch and that vehicle standard stock is ordered/replenished as needed.
  • As needed, completes material requisition forms and other related administrative activities.
  • Demonstrates leadership to the field staff in the areas of customer focus and customer service; following company policies, procedures, and processes; safety rules, procedures, and practices; and the implementation of company initiatives.
  • Assists the General Manager with administrative tasks and other duties as needed or assigned.
  • As needed to meet customer needs, performs service, maintenance, and installation work.
  • Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with additional training and 4+ years’ experience in Plumbing
  • Demonstrated basic leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train others in technical skills and effective customer service
  • Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area
  • EPA and safety certifications required
  • Current knowledge of and continuing education in national, state, and local plumbing code regulations
  • Knowledge of machines and tools used in the construction or repair of houses, buildings and other structures. This knowledge includes the machine and tools design, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Working proficiency in basic mathematics and metric and standard measurements
  • Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with plumbing systems and equipment
  • Familiar with the HVAC industry is preferred
  • Advanced skills in servicing plumbing equipment as well as related accessories
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various plumbing projects
  • Proficient and able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various service projects
  • Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns
  • Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Available to work flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas
  • Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt
  • Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
  • Ability to lift up to 100pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Minimum Experience: 4+ years
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
