Southern Home Services is seeking a Start-Up Warranty Technician to join our growing team. You will perform system start-ups on newly installed HVAC units, troubleshoot issues, and verify performance to meet warranty and quality standards.

You will collaborate with installation crews and customers, provide detailed reports, and ensure timely completion of repairs. The role requires strong technical skills, customer service, and a professional attitude.

Qualifications

• CFC/EPA certification required for environmental compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship with a positive and professional attitude.
• Dedicated to exceptional customer service and effectively addressing customer needs.
• Capable of interacting professionally with individuals at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct start-ups of newly installed HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC issues to restore performance.
• Deliver thorough service results with high customer satisfaction.
• Notify office of required parts and expedite procurement.
• Communicate clearly with customers and builders to resolve issues.
• Use iPad to manage calls, track work, and maintain records.
• Work from 8:00 to 17:00, with a 7:00 start on shop days.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

About this role:

The HVAC Start-Up Warranty Technician is responsible for conducting system start-ups and troubleshooting for newly installed HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet performance standards. This role involves performing comprehensive inspections, addressing any initial issues or deficiencies, and verifying compliance with manufacturer warranties and industry regulations. The technician works closely with installation teams and customers to resolve any problems promptly, provide detailed reports on system performance, and ensure that all aspects of the system are functioning correctly before finalizing the installation process. Excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service abilities are crucial for success in this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Conduct initial start-ups of newly installed HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet performance standards.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment issues, addressing any performance problems to restore optimal functionality.
• Deliver thorough and effective service results on every job, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
• Notify the office of required parts and follow up to expedite procurement and ensure timely repairs.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and builders as needed to resolve any issues.
• Use company-supplied iPad to manage scheduled calls, track work digitally, and maintain accurate records.
• Standard working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 7:00 am start time on shop days or as otherwise specified.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• CFC/EPA Certification required for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and their components.
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of three years of driving experience and a clean record.

The physical requirements of this job include:

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• The work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
