IES is seeking an HVAC Start Up Technician to support installation, service, and operational activities on-site in San Antonio, TX. You will coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams while ensuring safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include documentation, process improvements, and meeting customer expectations. Candidates should have 2–4 years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HVAC installation/maintenance experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• HVAC industry certifications preferred where required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Position Overview

The HVAC Start Up Technician is responsible for supporting HVAC operations, maintaining quality workmanship, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the successful execution of installation, service, replacement, or operational objectives while collaborating effectively with internal teams, customers, vendors, and field personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform assigned HVAC-related duties and responsibilities in support of departmental and company objectives.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with internal departments, customers, subcontractors, and vendors as required.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to assigned responsibilities.
• Support process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency efforts.
• Communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Assist leadership and team members with daily operational activities.
• Ensure quality standards and customer expectations are consistently met.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience related to hvac installation technician ii responsibilities preferred.
• HVAC industry experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and computer use.
• Hand movements, including typing and equipment operation.
• Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
• Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
• Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
• Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
• Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
• Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
• Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
