Job summary

Capstone Mechanical, LP. is seeking an entry-level Sheet Metal Pre-Apprentice to support fabrication and installation of HVAC sheet metal systems at construction sites. You will learn under supervision, assist journey-level workers, handle materials and tools, and adhere to safety and quality standards.

No prior sheet metal experience is required, and you will enroll in or be eligible for a union apprenticeship pathway. This is a hands-on role with growth potential in a union environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Enrollment in or eligibility to enter an applicable union sheet metal apprenticeship pathway.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey-level sheet metal workers and apprentices with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC ductwork and related components.
• Load, unload, stage, organize, and distribute tools, equipment, and materials at the shop and jobsite.
• Perform basic measuring, cutting, drilling, fastening, sealing, and assembly tasks under direct supervision.
• Assist with installing ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, and related materials as directed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas and properly care for assigned tools and equipment.
• Follow instructions, attend required training, and learn basic plans, specifications, trade terminology, and work practices.
• Follow all company, union, customer, and jobsite safety requirements and properly use required personal protective equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
