Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician II to service commercial and industrial systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and air handling units. You’ll receive comprehensive training and work on a variety of equipment to advance your technical skills.

You’ll lead Level I technicians, perform preventive maintenance, and support warranty services, with opportunities for growth and a company vehicle and tools provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry.
• High School Diploma or GED or higher.
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred).
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
• First aid/CPR (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts, and lubrication.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to variable air handling units, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and related systems.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Perform warranty service inspection and testing for HVAC equipment and components.
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards and reports in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by providing status updates before, during and after calls.
• Support training through Daikin Learning and regional trainers.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning.
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in NC. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
