Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician II/III to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment across Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Abilene, and Ft. Stockton.

The role includes troubleshooting, routine servicing, and direct guidance to junior technicians. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of related experience, HVAC certificate or equivalent, and EPA Universal certification.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to work with customers and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial/industrial HVAC equipment including rooftops, chillers, boilers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns.
• Lead Level I/II technicians through demonstrations and training as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of service, parts, and time.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are followed on site.

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician II/III. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.

Location:

Amarillo, TX, Lubbock, TX, Midland, TX, Odessa, TX, Abilene, TX, Ft. Stockton, TX. - Onsite

What You Will Do

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
• Tech III: Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC equipment. Direct technician Levels I and II through hands-on demonstration of the necessary steps and introduce centrifugal rebuilds.

Minimum Qualifications

• Service Tech II: 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Service Tech III: 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
