Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, is seeking a Service Technician I to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. You will service rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and air handling systems, with duties expanding with experience and training under Daikin Learning.

Typical work includes logging machines, communicating with customers, and ensuring safety standards. Onsite in Ft.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• HVAC certificate or equivalent training or experience.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial/industrial HVAC equipment.
• Maintain and inspect rooftop units, chillers, boilers, water source heat pumps, and air handling units.
• Assist in repair/replacement of defective equipment and related components/wiring.
• Log machinery, report billing and inventory, and handle timecards accurately.
• Explain technical information to customers and provide status updates during service calls.
• Participate in training and maintain required certifications; uphold safety policies.
• Create a clean, safe work area and follow Daikin policies.

Daikin Applied is seeking a Service Technician I. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments.The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Ft. Myers, FL. - Onsite

What you will do:

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Assist with warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $33.27 in Florida. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
