Chesapeake Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join our Service department in Chesapeake. The role emphasizes diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment, delivering quality service, and mentoring junior technicians.

The ideal candidate has EPA certification, 3–5 years of experience, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Refrigeration experience is a plus and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• EPA certification is required.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Clearly communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers.
• Complete service documentation accurately and promptly.
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with customers, supervisors, and other team members.
• Identify additional repair, replacement, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians.

Description

Chesapeake Controls Inc. ("CCI") is looking for an HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in troubleshooting complex systems, delivering excellent customer service, and completing high-quality work. Experience with refrigeration a plus!

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
• Clearly communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers
• Complete service documentation accurately and promptly
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate with customers, supervisors, and other team members
• Identify additional repair, replacement, and improvement opportunities
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician.
• Strong understanding of hydronic systems, pumps and controls
• EPA certification required.
• HVAC certification or diploma from an accredited program preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Experience with refrigeration a plus!
