Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking an HVAC Manager to lead our residential HVAC service operations. The role emphasizes profitability, customer satisfaction, and team leadership across multiple locations. You will schedule work, manage budgets, oversee parts and tools, and drive growth through service excellence.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of HVAC service and supervision experience, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. Experience with Service Titan is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitability and customer satisfaction by growing revenue while delivering excellent service.
• Evaluate and schedule service work to optimize manpower and profitability.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets to meet financial objectives.
• Oversee procurement and allocation of materials/equipment for scheduled jobs.
• Schedule repairs and maintenance to minimize delays and ensure smooth operations.
• Contribute to marketing strategies for department growth.
• Generate and review performance reports to improve operations.
• Track inventory, tools, and vehicle usage for efficient resource management.
• Instruct crews on proper material use and maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Review payroll for accurate technician compensation.
• Ensure tools are available and well-maintained; assist in dispatching.
• Address customer issues promptly to maintain satisfaction.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide on-the-job training.
• Assist General Manager in identifying and developing future leaders.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

• Drive profitability and customer satisfaction by enhancing revenue growth while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
• Evaluate and schedule service work to effectively utilize manpower, maximizing profitability and operational efficiency.
• Develop, manage, and oversee departmental budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Oversee the ordering and allocation of materials and equipment to ensure they are available for scheduled jobs.
• Schedule timely repairs and maintenance for parts to reduce job completion delays and ensure smooth operations.
• Engage in research and contribute to the marketing strategies of the department to drive business growth.
• Generate and review performance reports with management to monitor and improve departmental operations.
• Track and measure inventory, tools, and vehicle usage to ensure accurate records and efficient resource management.
• Instruct and guide crews on proper material use and ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Review payroll records to verify accurate and timely technician compensation.

• Evaluate staff performance to identify training needs and provide on-the-job training and support.
• Assist the General Manager in identifying and nurturing future leaders. Manage and develop service staff, including hiring, scheduling, setting priorities, conducting meetings, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Available to work evenings and weekends as needed to support operational demands.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC service, demonstrating deep industry knowledge and expertise.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, gas piping, electricity, plumbing, and airflow
• Proven ability in supervision, with strong communication, computer, and mathematical skills to effectively manage and optimize operations.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience to fulfill job responsibilities and travel to various locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of HVAC Management experience desirable
• Service Titan Experience is highly desired

The Physical Requirements Of This Job Include

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• The work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
