Job summary

Rycon Mechanical is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, service, or repair heating and cooling systems in commercial establishments. You should have EPA certification and prior HVAC service experience, and be comfortable working independently while delivering quality customer results.

A team player with a positive attitude, you will handle equipment startup, maintenance, and repairs, prioritizing efficiency and safety. Compensation is based on experience, at $30-$65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as HVAC service technician.
• EPA Certification required.
• OSHA 30 & SST Certification.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and climb ladders.
• Experience with chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup and commissioning of new systems incl RTU, VRF, splits, WSHP, DOAS, ERV.
• Repair or service HVAC systems to improve efficiency (filters, ducts, refrigerants).
• Troubleshoot various equipment.
• Diagnose problems and performance issues with equipment.
• Work with manufacturers and tech support.
• Establish customer rapport to ensure satisfaction.
• Test pipe/tubing joints for leaks with pressure gauge or soap solutions.
• Test electrical circuits for continuity.
• Repair or replace defective equipment.

• Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants


• Perform troubleshooting of various equipment


• Diagnose problems and performance issues with equipment


• Work closely with manufactures and tech support


• Establish customer rapport to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction


• Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution


• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment


• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring

Qualifications

• Past experience as an HVAC service technician for min 5 years


• Valid Drivers License (Clean)


• OSHA 30 & SST Certification


• FDNY G60 & F60


• EPA Certification


• Experience with operation and maintenance of chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems


• Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and lift 40 pounds


• Certification for working on Mitsubishi, Daikin, Aaon, LG & other manufactures a plus
