Job summary
American Weathermakers, Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC Residential Installer in Northbrook, IL to install, service, or repair heating and cooling systems in homes and small businesses.
You should have at least 4 years of residential HVAC installation experience, EPA Universal certification, and the ability to work independently or with a team. A valid driver's license and a 20-mile service radius requirement are essential.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Strong proficiency in brazing, soldering, sheet metal fabrication, low-voltage electrical, and pipe fitting.
- Solid understanding of HVAC concepts, construction techniques, and airflow theory.
- Experience with Boilers (Hydronic/Steam) and Unico systems.
- Valid EPA Certification card Universal.
- Must possess a full set of professional hand tools.
- Must live within 20-mile radius of Northbrook, IL.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Experience with operation and maintenance of chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems.
- Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and lift 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Install heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) understanding system efficiency, such as by install filter cabinet or racks, duct fabrication, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants
- Establish customer rapport to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction
- Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution
- Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring

We are looking for a skilled and experienced HVAC Residential Installer to join our team! In this role, you will install, service, or repair heating and air conditioning systems in residences or commercial establishments.

- Experience: Minimum 4 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in brazing, soldering, sheet metal fabrication, low-voltage electrical, and pipe fitting.
- Specialized Knowledge: Solid understanding of HVAC concepts, construction techniques, and airflow theory.
- Boiler & Specialty Systems: Proven experience with Boilers (Hydronic/Steam) and Unico systems is highly required.
- Certifications: Valid EPA Certification card Universal. (Bring all active certifications to your interview!)
- Tools: Must possess a full set of professional hand tools.
- Work Ethic & Communication: Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and communicate clearly with homeowners.
- Location: Must live within our service area (20-mile radius of Northbrook, IL).

- Past experience as an HVAC Installer or comparable education
- Valid Drivers License
- EPA Certification
- Experience with operation and maintenance of chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems

- 2+ years of HVAC Service experience.
- Completion of a formal HVAC training program.
- Your own rotary hammer drill
- Driver's License (Required)
