Job summary

Nextech is seeking an HVAC/R Technician to deliver reliable, high-quality service to commercial clients. You will troubleshoot, repair, and install systems while performing preventive maintenance and documenting work.

You will be dispatched from home for daily convenience and provided with a company van and tools. Ideal candidates have HVAC/R experience, EPA certification, a valid driver's license, and a readiness to work overtime or weekends when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; EPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years HVAC/R field experience; some states may require a Journeyman license.
• EPA certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities with schematics.
• Comfort with mobile apps and technology; ability to read work plans.
• Willingness to overtime, weekends or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems including electrical and mechanical components.
• Perform maintenance and emergency service, including after-hours calls.
• Document service details using company-provided iPads.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory to standard.
• Communicate with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth scheduling.
• Identify additional service opportunities and discuss with customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Nextech HVAC/R Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality service to commercial clients. From troubleshooting to repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance — you’re the expert our customers trust.

Here’s what your day could look like:

• Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components
• Perform maintenance and emergency service as needed, including after-hours on-call rotations
• Accurately document all service details using company-provided iPads
• Maintain your company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory to the highest standards
• Communicate clearly with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth scheduling and service delivery
• Identify additional service opportunities and share them with customers

Min Compensation

USD $25.00/Hr.

Max Compensation

USD $40.00/Hr.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an HVAC/R field technician
  • May require a Journeyman's License in some states
  • May require state specific licenses
• EPA certification and a valid driver’s license
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and work plans
• Basic comfort with mobile apps and technology
• A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active role. You should be able to:

• Safely work at heights using ladders up to 28–32 feet and operate equipment within manufacturer weight limits
• Lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment, including extension ladders, up to 100 lbs
• Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach into confined spaces, and perform twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks
• Maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity
• Stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day
• Use vision, hearing, and verbal communication continuously
• Operate work-related equipment such as iPads, cell phones, and computers
• Travel to customer sites as needed
• Occasionally work in an office environment
• Follow all applicable safety procedures
