Walmart is hiring a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician for our Danville, VA location. You will repair and maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems across Walmart facilities, using hand and power tools, digital systems, and strict safety practices.

The role involves responding to emergencies, documenting activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Minimum qualifications include 2 years in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance, EPA certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with clean MVR.
• 18+ years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Use work order system to manage repair jobs for stores and document activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete safety training and operate equipment safely.
• Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations per Walmart policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets byutilizingcommercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills and using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
• Provide promptresponseto emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspecting,operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements tooperateequipment and tools safely.
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and comfortable working at heightsfrequently

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
