Job summary

Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford, Massachusetts is seeking an HVAC-R Instructor with both part-time and full-time options. The role supports integrating HVAC-R components into the Construction Cluster and aims to launch a standalone HVAC-R program in fall 2027.

Qualifications

  • Vocational teaching or industry training experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in working within a vocational-technical high school environment.
  • Licensed as an HVAC-R instructor by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) or eligible for a Chapter 74 license waiver.

Job Opening: HVAC-R Instructor

Nashoba Valley Technical High School is seeking a qualified, licensed HVAC-R Instructor (part-time and full-time options available) to join our dynamic community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Nashoba Tech serves district students from Ayer, Chelmsford, Groton, Littleton, Pepperell, Shirley, Townsend, and Westford, Massachusetts.

Position Overview & Vision

The successful candidate will join our Construction Cluster staff (Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical) as we actively work this year to integrate HVAC-R components into our existing trade curricula, with the goal of launching a standalone HVAC-R program in the fall of 2027.

During the 2026–2027 school year, the HVAC-R Instructor will:

This is a union position with pay based on the teacher’s salary schedule. Starting salary is determined by your education level and years of experience, as outlined in our collective bargaining agreement. You can view the full contract and pay scales on our website at nashobatech.net.

Job Requirements
  • To be eligible for a license waiver the candidate must demonstrate the following:
    -High school diploma, the equivalent, or higher degree and
    -Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to the field of the license sought and
    -Possession of current Section 608 EPA certification at the universal level
    Candidates will then be expected in the next year to make progress on required state testing.
    Written and performance test for Heating-Air-Conditioning-Ventilation-Refrigeration
    Literacy Test
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
