Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, building systems, and decarbonization, seeks a Project Manager to lead Major Projects valued at $1M+ from turnover through closeout. You will oversee project execution, customer satisfaction, financial performance, schedules, and safety across field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, 2–5 years of project leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related field required.
• 2–5 years of experience managing commercial construction, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, controls, or related projects.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
• Working knowledge of project financials, forecasting, contract administration, and change order management.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

• Support commissioning, turnover, and customer training activities.
• Promote strong safety practices and ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.

Project Manager

In this project leadership role, you will manage Major Projects valued at $1M+ from turnover through closeout. What you will do

• Balance safety, quality, schedule, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Build strong relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
• Partner with field operations to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage project finances through accurate forecasting and cost control.
• Communicate effectively and drive accountability across the project team.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field required.
• 2-5 years of experience managing commercial construction, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, controls, or related projects.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer relationships.

Preferred

• Experience managing projects valued at $1M or greater.
• Experience with HVAC, building automation, mechanical construction, or other complex building systems.
• PMP, CAPM, CMIT, or other relevant certifications.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $110,000 -150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
