Job summary

Environmental Air Systems is seeking skilled trades assistants in Wilmington, NC to support installation of HVAC components and metal panels on complex projects. You will read blueprints, measure and fit parts, and coordinate with crews to maintain quality and safety on site.

Responsibilities include assisting with ductwork, roofing, and panel installation, while adhering to timelines and collaborating with multiple trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of construction, HVAC, or sheet metal experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and layouts.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and airflow.
• Familiarity with tools, materials, and installation techniques in commercial settings.
• Knowledge of rigging signals, welding, or fabrication is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.

• Support bending, fitting, and installation of metal flashing and structural components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide installation work.

• Communicate discrepancies in plans or materials to team leads.
• Assist with duct layout and preparation for installation.
• Support equipment setting and rigging operations using proper signals and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites while adhering to safety standards.
• Collaborate with multiple trades to ensure project success.
• Accurate and efficient installation support with minimal rework.
• Consistent adherence to safety standards with zero incidents.
• Timely completion of assigned tasks within project schedules.
• Strong teamwork and communication with crew members and supervisors.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to construction noise levels (90+ decibels), mechanical systems, and equipment.
• Frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
