Job summary

Employment Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead HVAC and process piping design for commercial and industrial facilities. You will develop calculations, P&IDs, equipment selections, and documentation to support project execution.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and a PE license or progress toward licensure. Collaboration with preconstruction, estimating, and field teams is essential to ensure compliant, cost‑effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Five to seven years of experience in HVAC system design within MEP or mechanical contracting environments.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design and documentation.
• Experience developing full engineering documentation including calculations and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and process piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Develop comprehensive engineering documentation including calculations, P&IDs, equipment selections, and installation details.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE guidelines.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, project management, and field teams to align design intent with execution.
• Evaluate existing building systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Drive engineering input into project proposals, ensuring alignment with budget and client objectives.
• Serve as a technical resource to resolve complex design and construction challenges during project execution.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with high accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
• Communicate design intent clearly to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the advancement of engineering standards and best practices.
