Job summary

F & G Mechanical Corporation seeks an HVAC Estimator with extensive experience in cost estimation for HVAC piping and bid preparation. This role is 100% in-office, requiring strong takeoff skills, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with AutoBid Mechanical and MS Office.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in HVAC estimating within construction, with knowledge of contracts, regulations, and project management tools. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC estimating experience in the construction industry.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor or Master in engineering or construction field desirable.
• Knowledge of construction industry and contract documentation.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with AutoBid and other construction programs.
• Familiarity with project management/document control software.
• Familiarity with construction/financial software packages.

Responsibilities

• Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and foremen to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates used by management for planning and scheduling.
• Analyze blueprints to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Review contract and bid documents and understand project scope.
• Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings.
• Quantitative take-off and computer entry.
• Prepare scope letters and proposals.
• Maintain relationships with customers, GCs, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Perform design/build, conceptual and budget estimates.
• Coordinate with Engineering Department.
• Ensure documents are saved in the estimating folders.
• Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
