ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic II to operate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at the Wilmington and Christiana Hospitals.
Hours: Day shift 7:30a–4:00p with on-call rotation. Requires high school diploma, four years HVAC experience, and Journeyman certification or Master HVAC/R license; EPA 608 certification is mandatory.

High School graduate or equivalent.
Four years relevant HVAC experience and Journeyman certification, or Master HVAC/R license, or military HVAC/R specialist experience.
Must maintain EPA certification for working with CFC, HCFC, HFC Refrigerants Level I (small appliances, 5 pounds refrigerant or less) and Level II (High Pressure and very high pressure appliances) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act. Must obtain Respiratory Medical Clearance and must be able to wear a Half Face Air Purifying Respirator or Power Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
Strenuous work associated with direct HVAC systems repair, including operating chain falls and large wrenches, climbing cooling towers, boiler tops, ladder work, and bending and stooping over equipment
Exposure to oils, grease, hot surfaces, chemical fumes, soot, dust, dirt, extreme heat, cold, and noise. Exposure to burns, scalds, eye and ear hazards, and falls. Exposure to cramped and confined areas, and danger of infection.

This position has a starting rate of $36.09 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $42.73 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $44.94.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
