Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial facilities in Jacksonville, FL. This role supports safe, reliable building operations and requires strong technical knowledge and adherence to safety standards.

You will install ducts and controls, perform preventive maintenance, document work orders, and read blueprints.

Qualifications

• HVAC repair and maintenance experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman HVAC License for Duval County.
• Universal EPA Certification required.
• Ability to operate hand/tools and read schematics.

What this job involves:

The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial facilities. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable building operations by ensuring environmental-control systems operate at peak performance. The position requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, electrical components, and mechanical equipment while maintaining compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial buildings and facilities.
• Mount and connect compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, control panels, and ventilation equipment according to engineering specifications and blueprints.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork, piping, tubing, and related HVAC components using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and replace defective components including thermostats, switches, breakers, fuses, wiring, and controls.
• Test HVAC systems for proper operation, refrigerant pressure, airflow, leaks, and temperature performance using gauges and testing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all company, environmental, and regulatory safety standards.
• Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and other assigned duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of HVAC repair and maintenance experience in commercial or industrial environments.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Journeyman HVAC Mechanic License for Duval County required.
• Universal EPA Certification (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) required.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, testing devices, and HVAC diagnostic equipment.
• Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical controls, piping, and ventilation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience servicing large commercial HVAC units and environmental-control systems.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, equipment schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Basic welding, soldering, pipefitting, and sheet metal fabrication skills.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance programs in commercial facilities.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to HVAC operations and refrigerant handling.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities effectively.
