Job summary

SDAC is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems at a U.S. Government military facility in Columbus, GA. The role requires NATE and Universal CFC certifications, a DC Stationary License, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

The position is part-time, with Monday–Friday hours and potential overtime or on-call emergencies. Base pay is $31.48 per hour, with duties including system testing, documentation, and coordination with EMS

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC experience.
• NATE Certification (required).
• Universal CFC Certification (required).
• DC Stationary License (1st or 3rd) (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment (RTUs, AHUs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, VAVs, heat pumps, split systems).
• Troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems, including controls and wiring diagrams.
• Respond to service calls and emergency after-hours requests as needed.
• Maintain service documentation, tools, and supply inventory.
• Support building systems including EMS, fire alarm, sprinkler, and emergency generator systems.
• Safely lift and move materials up to 75 lbs.
• Follow all safety, security, and site requirements.
