Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Maintenance HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment, boilers, and related systems. The role focuses on minimizing downtime and ensuring client satisfaction across building systems.

The position requires 3–5 years of HVAC maintenance experience, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to work at heights and operate lifts. A high school diploma or GED is required, and U.S. work authorization is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HVAC maintenance experience (commercial/industrial).
• EPA 608 Certification.

• Strong understanding of building systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to work at heights and operate various lifts.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust pilots, thermostats and burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches and controls on electrical systems.
• Installs, maintains and repairs ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identifies maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Cleans, adjusts and repairs systems, and performs warranty services.
• Performs emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
• Willingness to Work at Various Heights: comfortable working in elevated environments.
• Ladder Climbing: capable of safely ascending and descending ladders of various sizes and types.
• Utilizing Various Lifts: proficiency in operating lifts to reach higher areas.

The Maintenance HVAC Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and performing repairs on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to eliminate system downtime and ensure optimal client relations.

Compensation

$28.00 - $38.00 per hour pay rate (U.S. Dollars)

• Utilizing Various Lifts: Proficiency in operating a range of lifts is essential. This involves maneuvering scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other mechanical devices to reach higher areas.
