Job summary

Dallas College seeks a Lab Specialist to support on-site laboratories across campuses. You will manage equipment, inventory, MSDS data, and safety procedures while assisting HVAC-focused courses.

Collaborating with faculty, you’ll troubleshoot hardware/software and ensure a safe, well-maintained learning environment. After six months, a hybrid option may be available based on performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications require Associate degree plus one (1) year of related work experience and/or experience in a teaching environment.
• In lieu of associate degree, two (2) years of related work experience may be substituted.
• Official transcripts are required.
• Some positions may require specific state licensed/certifications depending on the discipline.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily operations and maintenance of laboratories, specialized classrooms, learning laboratories, tool rooms and equipment.
• Promotes and supports safety through laboratory practices and provides training for students on safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.
• Maintains MSDS information for all chemicals and materials as required.
• Performs periodic inventory and maintains accurate inventory for equipment, tools, materials and supplies.
• Receives, stores, and issues tools, supplies or equipment; maintains logs and ensures security of inventory.
• Schedules maintenance, repairs, and supports vendor quotes and purchases.
• Coordinates learning lab support with faculty and supervises lab assistants.
