Apollopros in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced HVAC Lab Technician to support testing, evaluation, and development of HVAC systems. You will lead test runs on water and air-cooled chillers, ensuring data integrity and reliability in a high-speed lab environment.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HVAC service/maintenance, hands-on experience with high-power electrical systems, and a strong grasp of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Competenze
- High school diploma or GED is required
- 5+ years of experience servicing/maintaining commercial HVAC equipment
- Experience working in a laboratory environment with performance testing and validation
Mansioni
- Test execution: set up chillers with instrumentation and monitor data acquisition systems
- Electrical safety: work with 460V/3ph/60Hz equipment and EPA refrigerant handling
- Diagnostics & troubleshooting: identify failures in PLCs, VFDs, or instrumentation and coordinate repairs
- Precision calibration: calibrate lab equipment for pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical measurements
- Facility oversight: manage infrastructure including boilers, cooling towers, and high-pressure pumping systems
- EHS & compliance: uphold company EHS policy and 5S standards, enforce arc flash and lockout/tagout procedures
