Job summary

The HVAC Instructor at the Career Tech Center within Muskegon Area Intermediate School District delivers hands-on instructional programming in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and industry practices. Qualifications

• Must possess a valid EPA 608 Certified Technician credential.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant vocational specialty.
• Annual Career Authorization in CIP Code 47.0607 or related CIP codes, or 4,000 hours of recent related work experience.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise and manage program implementation.
• No disqualifying physical or mental restrictions.
• Planning and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Delivers classroom and lab instruction using competency-based approaches.
• Collaborates with advisory committees to develop course content.
• Develops work-based learning sites for students.
• Assesses student progress with varied techniques.
• Maintains two-way communication with parents and students.
• Cooperates with staff to create opportunities for students.
• Maintains data-keeping systems and student records.
• Assists in budgeting and program funds monitoring.
• Attends meetings and fulfills program requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Principal.
