Job summary

Power Design is seeking an HVAC-focused Mechanical Apprentice to support installation and quality service under the Mechanical Foreman. You will help install equipment, braze copper refrigerant lines, and set up duct systems in various building types.

The role requires hands-on HVAC experience, OSHA 30 preferred, and a solid understanding of IMC/SMACNA guidelines plus local codes. Commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience installing HVAC systems.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent; EPA certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IMC/SMACNA guidelines, local codes, and construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other equipment per manufacturer specs and company requirements.
  • Use press systems to install copper refrigerant lines, including brazing and soldering.
  • Install flex, duct board, and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and multifamily buildings.
  • Inspect HVAC systems to identify hazards or defects and coordinate repairs to ensure code compliance.
  • Advise Superintendents and Foremen of potential hazards to maintain jobsite safety.
