Job Summary
The Installation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects and functions of assigned HVAC installation projects, including planning, coordinating, and directing activities of the installation department. This role involves maintaining a workforce aligned with business needs, scheduling projects for profitability and timely completion, communicating installation information effectively, and managing and developing employees to foster a positive work environment.
Job Duties
- Direct oversight of installation dispatching, ordering, warehousing, truck inventory and maintenance, and tool inventory and maintenance.
- Oversee the building and completion of installation job packets.
- Ensure complete and accurate forms are included in job folders.
- Accurately order materials to complete each installation.
- Approve assignment of installation crews to each job.
- Coordinate materials procurement with approved vendors for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Track unused materials and manage their return or reuse on other jobs.
- Oversee inventory of all trucks and warehouse stock.
- Prioritize safety and quality by scheduling and conducting monthly safety meetings.
- Conduct regular job site and truck inspections.
- File permits required for installations that need local permits to commence work.
- Maintain departmental budget expectations, including job costing analysis of completed jobs.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior successful experience as an HVAC Installation Technician.
- NATE certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills and technical competence.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
- Clean driving record.
