Job summary

HVAC RNTL in Dallas, Texas is hiring an HVAC Installation Technician to install applied equipment and perform depot maintenance. This full-time role fits an energetic, customer-service oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work with minimal supervision.

You will troubleshoot, install and commission cooling towers, perform refrigerant leak checks, complete log sheets, and work across multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training.
• 1–5 years in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related fields.
• Electrical knowledge required; EPA certification preferred.
• Strong problem solving, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent customer service and ability to train junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation of all applied equipment with direction but limited supervision.
• Assist with depot maintenance and testing of applied equipment.
• Assist with depot cleaning and inventory.
• Troubleshoot low suction pressure and high discharge pressure diagnostics.
• Install and commission cooling towers.

• Conductor coil cleaning on trailer mounted chillers.
• Navigate chiller control panels to collect data.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to perform installation of applied equipment and depot maintenance. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic go-getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. This position requires strong problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask, along with the ability to work in diverse working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation of all applied equipment with direction but limited supervision.
• Assist with depot maintenance and testing of applied equipment with supervision.
• Assist with depot cleaning and inventory.
• Troubleshoot low suction pressure and high discharge pressure diagnostics on applied equipment.
• Install and commission cooling towers.
• Perform refrigerant leak check on applied equipment.
• Complete log sheets on all installed equipment.
• Perform condenser coil cleaning on trailer mounted chillers on customer job sites.
• Perform tube maintenance on water-cooled chillers.
• Navigate chiller control panels to collect data.

The Required Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training
• Previous experience of 1 to 5 years in chiller/HVAC maintenance, mechanical engineering, or other related fields.
• Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification Preferred (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to train junior technicians.
• Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
• Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.
• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
