Southern Home Services, a residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical company, seeks an HVAC Install Helper to support the Lead Install Technician in installing and upgrading systems in homes. You will help ensure high-quality workmanship, protect client properties, and maintain equipment in a safe environment.

The role requires physical tasks, lifting, driving, and flexible on-call hours, with emphasis on teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HVAC Lead Install Technician with installation, upgrades, and replacements of residential HVAC systems.
• Perform checks to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with standards.
• Maintain tools, parts, and company vehicle in good order; protect client property.
• Meet scheduled appointments and on-call hours; work in tight spaces and various weather conditions.
• Assist with physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds or more; climb ladders and work on heights.

About This Role

Assist the HVAC Lead Install Technician with the installation, upgrades, and replacements of HVAC systems in residential properties. Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for every client, addressing their needs professionally and efficiently.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

• Assist in the installation of HVAC systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with service standards and customer specifications.
• Conduct thorough checks of all installation aspects to prevent unnecessary callbacks and ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Maintain tools, parts, and the vehicle in a clean and organized manner.
• Use floor savers and drop cloths to protect clients' property and keep the work area neat.
• Meet scheduled appointments and on-call hours, ensuring timely job completion.
• Perform work in tight spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces) and in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Work safely on scaffolds and ladders at various heights.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA Certification desired if you do not have it yet, we will help you get it!

The Physical Requirements Of This Job Include

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• The work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
