Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Field HVAC Technician to perform on-site installation, diagnosis and repair of equipment at customer locations. You will coordinate with team leaders, interpret blueprints, and ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while delivering reliable climate solutions.

This field-based role requires a high school diploma, EPA certification, 5+ years of HVAC experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Typically 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA certification required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone/tablet).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand on-site installation/repair requirements.
• Represent the company as the primary customer contact on projects and ensure satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment at customer locations.
• Use tools and software to diagnose and repair units per blueprints/specifications.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed; maintain safety and asset accountability on-site.

Where is the work: Field-based

Work is conducted on-site at customer locations.

What you will do:

• Coordinates with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
• Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
• Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Displays team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
• Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.

What you will bring:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Typically requires 5 plus years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA Certification.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
