Job summary

The State of New York is seeking a Plant Utilities Assistant for Syracuse campus facilities. You will support the operation and maintenance of stationary equipment and systems, working under the PUE I Duty Engineer and ensuring safe, compliant work areas for patients, guests and staff.

Requirements include NYC Civil Service eligibility or transfer eligibility, or an approved alternative like HVAC degree/certificate or relevant experience, plus a valid NYS driver's license.

Qualifications

• New York State Civil Service eligible or eligible for transfer.
• Open-competitive qualifications: one of four options listed (HVAC assoc degree, 1 year HVAC experience, residential HVAC experience, or HVAC certificate).
• Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stationary equipment and systems on campus facilities.
• Perform maintenance on areas used by patients, guests and visitors.
• Comply with Safety Health Codes and use respirator as required.
